My rainy holidays

I remember my 2009 winter holidays so clearly. Those days were perfect. I went with my family to a cabin on El Tabo, on the central coast of Chile. The cabin was so simple, not to big, not even fancy, but it was so cozy, and warm, it has a huge hearth built with stones. The entire house was built of wood. It has a beautiful shape, like the little houses from fairytales. Everything was so rustic and simple. I remember that even the scent of the house was relaxing, it smelled like firewood and a rainy day.

We didn't want to go out, but we knew that we were on holidays so we had to made the days worth. We were there for one entire week, and when I say we, I mean my mom, my grandma, my closest cousin, my sister and I, we were just women on that holidays. Yeah girl power!

We decided to go to the beach, it was like the second day I think, and the day was really rainy, we walk like five hundred meters to the beach and it was windy and cold, and the raindrops were hitting our cheeks, that was a great sensation and we couldn't stop laughing. We walked through the wet sand, and then, when we felt really really cold we went back to the house looking for a hot shower and hot cocoa too.

The next day there was a huge storm, with thunders and lightnings, so we stayed at home all day playing cards, Twister, watching movies and heating marshmallows on the fire.

I remember that almost all the days that we spent there were cold and rainy but we didn't feel cold at all, and  I enjoyed every single minute there. That house was the place where I started to read Harry Potter too, so it was really significant for me.
